How To Use ORBITASK

THE THREE LAYERS
Start with the destination.
Work backwards.
Most tools start at the task level. Orbitask starts at the vision level, then gives you structure to work downward.
Your highest-level, longest-range goals. They don't have deadlines. They have gravity. Everything else in Orbitask exists to serve them.
Annual plans broken into four seasons. Each Orbit turns a Moonshot into a concrete year of work with natural checkpoints.
Full Kanban boards for any project: a seasonal board, a client deliverable, or a personal list. This is where daily execution happens.
LAYER ONE
Moonshots are your
north star
A Moonshot is a goal so large it doesn't fit neatly into any single project or month. Writing a book. Building a product. Learning a craft. These are goals that define a season of your life, not a week of it.
Create Moonshots first, before Orbits and Missions, because they're the reason everything else exists. Link cards and Orbits back to a Moonshot to stay oriented.

Orbits make the
impossible manageable
A Moonshot can feel paralyzing at full scale. An Orbit breaks it into a year, and a year into four seasons. Each season is its own Mission board: a focused chunk of time with a clear start and end.
Seasons are more human than quarters. The seasonal rhythm maps naturally to how energy and focus actually shift over a year.

LAYER THREE
Missions are where
work gets done
A Mission is a full Kanban board. Columns, cards, priorities, due dates, tags, checklists, and markdown notes: everything you need to execute a project, day to day.
Missions don't have to connect to an Orbit. They work equally well as standalone project boards for any client, personal, or team project.
